Google is currently testing a new way of displaying Search Generative Experience (SGE) results, which are being generated by AI. They are not yet available in Poland, but we know that it’s just a matter of time, so it’s worth keeping an eye on the changes already.
What are the changes?
Google is now showing links in a more transparent way. The need for such a change has been discussed by the SEO industry from the beginning of SGE, and it seems that the dissatisfaction has not gone unnoticed.
How did SGE results look before? Here are two examples:

As you can see in the screenshot above, to view the sources of certain answers, one had to hover over the quotation marks. The intuitive but not clear solution caused SEO specialists to discuss the topic: firstly, because it was a less transparent practice, and secondly, because it was not beneficial for the websites that Google’s AI used to generate responses.
And here’s the second example:

Do you see the difference? Each statement comes with a specific reference. The content is more credible, and the sources providing the information are not anonymous.
In the screenshot below, you can see that the links appear at the very top and next to each piece of information. There is no longer a need to search for quotation marks, and the sources are not anonymous. Google has apparently embraced its own E-E-A-T strategy ?.
