Rich Snippet is a Google search result with additional valuable information. The results, which you usually find in Google, contain elements such as title tag and meta description. The additional data is displayed based on the data included in the following formats:
- microdata,
- microformats,
- RDFa,

Standard search results look as follows:
Here is an example of a rich snippet:
As we can see, in addition to the title tag and meta description, there are also images, user ratings, and votes. Rich snippets are more eye-catching than normal search results, which can increase CTR.
Rich Snippet and SEO
Rich snippets stand out from the other “normal” search results. They are much more eye-catching and contain valuable information – thanks to which users can evaluate whether the content presented on a website will be useful to them. This, in turn, effectively reduces the bounce rate.
As rich snippets look much more appealing than regular Google search results, they also have a higher click-through rate (CTR). When this rate increases, you get more traffic from organic search results. In the long run, this will improve your Google ranking. When more users click on your page, for Google it will be a signal that people value your website more than others.
