What is Domain Authority – Definition

Domain Authority (DA) is a parameter popular in an SEO industry, developed by MOZ company. It can be compared to Page Rank – an algorithm developed by Google.

Domain Authority indicates the “strength” and the site’s relation to the industry or subject. Its purpose is to show the ranking potential of a given website and to forecast how it will be performing in the SERP. DA score is on a scale from 1 to 100 – the higher the score the better.

How to improve Domain Authority?

Domain Authority score of a website depends on many factors, i.a. MozRank, MozTrust, the number and quality of backlinks, and so on. To improve a DA, one should increase the number of high-quality links that lead to the site and improve its SEO, meaning focusing on all other search engine optimization elements. It’s worth mentioning that it’s really hard to get DA score close to 100, so the important thing is not to get discouraged along the way.
