What is FTP? – Definition

FTP (File Transfer Protocol) is a network protocol that enables the communication between a client and a server using the transmission control protocol (TCP). It allows two-way file transfer between the FTP server and FTP client. This is nothing more than managing files on your computer and downloading files from available archives. The speed of data transfer via FTP is more efficient than the traditional download from web sites.
