It was recently discovered that unchecking the enhancement options (Advantage+ Ad Materials) in Meta Ads at the ad level does not necessarily mean that they are turned off at all. They may still occur if the “Test new enhancements” option is checked at the account level in “Advertising Settings”.
To disable this option, go to Advertising Settings in the side menu, then select the Advantage+ Creative section and disable Test New Enhancements.
What does this mean for you?
If you want full control over the visual appearance and settings of your ads, make sure the enhancements option is turned off both at the ads level and in your account settings. Otherwise, although you disable the option at the ad level, it will remain active if it is enabled at the account level.
Enabling the enhancement testing option may result, for example, in the automatic addition of backgrounds in different colors to product graphics, which will not always be desirable. It is therefore important to carefully check the settings at both levels to avoid unwanted changes.
