What is Average Cost-Per-Click (Avg. CPC)? – Definition
Average CPC (cost-per-click) indicates the average amount you need to pay for each click on your ad. It differs from the maximum cost per click (max CPC) as it is calculated based on the actual CPC.
How to Calculate Average CPC?
- Let’s assume that your ad generated two clicks – the cost of the first is $1, the cost of the second is $1.20. Thus, the average cost per click is [$2.20 (total cost) ÷ 2 (number of clicks)] = $1.10.
- The cost of the campaign was $1,000 and you got 2,000 clicks – the average cost per click is $0.5.
How to Estimate Average CPC?
You can get this information for each campaign separately. Use Keyword Planner, a powerful tool built into the Google Ads dashboard. You will be able to check there the estimated average CPC for your search network campaigns.
