Italic tag

What is an Italic Tag? – Definition

An Italic tag () is placed in the HTML code to display text in italic. Thanks to this tag, users who visit a given page pay special attention to the content marked with this tag.

The italic tag is primarily intended for users to help them see the most important information in the text, however, , unlike the tag, is ignored by the Google crawlers. For this reason, keep in mind that if you want to insert relevant keywords on your site, place them in the or tags.
